"Hanbell Cup" 20th China Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry University Student Science and Technology Competition Successfully Concluded in Shanghai

This year's competition was jointly organized by the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association (CRAA), the Teaching Guidance Committee for Energy and Power Majors of the Ministry of Education, and the Teaching Guidance Sub-Committee for Building Environment and Energy Engineering, as well as Building Electrical and Intelligence Majors under the Ministry of Education. It received special support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was hosted by Zhejiang University, and co-organized by Shanghai Hanbell Precise Machinery Co., Ltd. It is a highly authoritative, professional, and influential high-level university student science and technology innovation competition in the domestic refrigeration and air conditioning field.

At the closing ceremony of the competition, Bai Junwen, Secretary-General of the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, and Yu Yuxuan, Chairman of Shanghai Hanbell Precise Machinery Co., Ltd., delivered speeches respectively, focusing on industry development and talent cultivation, and discussing the innovative future of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

Bai Junwen, Secretary-General of the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, stated in his speech that this competition centered on the core theme of "Artificial Intelligence + Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology," focusing on the deep integration of AI technology and the traditional refrigeration field, with the aim of driving industry transformation and upgrading through technological innovation. For the first time, this year's competition set the offline final venue at the production plant of the co-organizing enterprise, representing a groundbreaking exploration in promoting deep integration of industry and education and breaking down barriers between university scientific innovation and industrial practice. He also expressed high respect and sincere gratitude to all colleagues who have long been committed to talent cultivation in the industry and strongly supported the hosting of the competition, as well as to Zhejiang University and Shanghai Hanbell Precise Machinery Co., Ltd. for their full support and selfless dedication in ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Yu Yuxuan, Chairman of Shanghai Hanbell Precise Machinery Co., Ltd., introduced that the company has been actively co-organizing this competition for ten consecutive years and has always highly recognized its important value in empowering young students, consolidating the talent foundation of the industry, and promoting high-quality industrial development. He pointed out that the domestic refrigeration and air conditioning industry is currently at a critical stage of simultaneous scale expansion and quality upgrading, and that young students are the core backbone of the industry's future scientific research innovation and technological iteration. The speeches of both sides shared a common thread, both paying tribute to the competition's 20-year commitment to nurturing talent and cultivating innovation, while also conveying the industry's firm belief in deepening efforts on the green and low-carbon track and promoting high-quality and sustainable industrial development.

This year's competition had broad coverage and high participation, attracting outstanding students from 29 universities across multiple regions, including Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning. The final brought together 21 undergraduate comprehensive teams, 23 undergraduate innovation teams, and 9 graduate students to compete on the same stage. The competition featured multi-dimensional and full-process assessment segments, including online innovation defense, offline on-site practical operations, and professional knowledge quizzes, comprehensively examining the participants' professional theoretical foundations, practical operational abilities, and innovative thinking qualities. After multiple rounds of intense competition, the competition successfully determined the special prizes, first prizes, second prizes, and third prizes for the graduate student group, undergraduate comprehensive group, and undergraduate innovation group.

In addition to the intense competition, the organizing committee carefully planned a series of high-level academic exchange and career development activities to enrich the competition's content and empower youth growth. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) exclusively created a Sustainable Development Movers workshop, focusing on global climate action core issues, deeply interpreting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and guiding young students to adopt a professional perspective, align with global green development needs, closely integrate personal academic development with the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, and establish a green scientific innovation mindset.

At the same time, industry authority expert Professor Shi Wenxing from Tsinghua University delivered a special academic lecture titled "Heat Pumps: The Electrothermal and Cooling Hub for Green and Low-Carbon Transformation." Based on the macro backdrop of the "dual carbon" strategy, he systematically analyzed the core value, application scenarios, and cutting-edge development trends of heat pump technology, helping participating students break through the limitations of textbook knowledge, accurately grasp industry technological directions, broaden their professional research horizons, and build a solid cognitive foundation and clarify development paths for young scholars in the refrigeration and air conditioning field.

During the competition, Zhang Tao, a recruitment specialist from Shanghai Hanbell Precise Machinery Co., Ltd., conducted a corporate presentation and talent exchange session, comprehensively introducing the company's development history, strategic layout, and future development blueprint to the teachers and students present, deeply explaining the company's unique corporate culture and talent cultivation philosophy, and detailing core recruitment positions, compensation and benefits systems, exclusive newcomer training programs, and career growth and advancement paths. With its strong corporate strength, clear development plans, comprehensive talent cultivation systems, and humane corporate atmosphere, Hanbell Precise Machinery received high recognition and unanimous praise from all teachers and students, laying a solid foundation for deep school-enterprise cooperation and precise talent cultivation in the industry.

Professor Ma Guoyuan from Beijing University of Technology conducted a comprehensive review of this year's competition, presenting an overall summary of the competition's highlights, scientific innovation achievements, and breakthrough innovations, systematically summarizing the participants' scientific innovation advantages and the effectiveness of youth talent cultivation in the industry, providing important references for future competition optimization, university scientific innovation education, and industry talent development.

The major awards of this competition were presented to their respective winners, with fruitful results. Among them, the special prize of the graduate student group was won by a contestant from China Jiliang University; the special prize of the undergraduate comprehensive group was won by the "Green Energy Pioneer" team from China Jiliang University and the "Refrigeration Queen" team from Shanghai Maritime University; and the special prize of the undergraduate innovation group was won by the "Tianqu Dilen" team from Southeast University and the "Longtan Craftsman" team from Shenyang Jianzhu University. Each of these honors represents high recognition of the participants' solid professional abilities and outstanding innovative qualities, as well as full affirmation of the new generation of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry's courage to explore and excel in innovation.

The closing ceremony featured the significant release of a talent incentive policy, which became the biggest highlight of the entire event.
